Release the Dragon Boat!

In preparation for the upcoming River Race , a motley crew of Maj-ites ambled down to the London Regatta Centre in search of paddling wisdom.

We joyfully leapt into our designated dragon boat, appropriately named ‘The Black Mamba’. Rumour has it that this is the very same one that Kate Middleton was seen paddling with The Sisterhood several years ago.

With expert instruction on how to excute the perfect A-frame stroke, we were soon rowing up and down the pleasantly cooling Thames waters in *ahem* perfect harmony. Luckily ex-rowers Chris Reid and Adam Parker were there to keep us motivated and provide inspiration. Ultimately a good day was had by all and we completed a grand total of (drumroll please)…3 miles! Yes this falls a little short of the 21 miles (that’s the  width of the English Channel), but isn’t the fact that we’re completely out of our comfort zone with this almost marathon length row just another reason to donate?
